SITUATION

A comprehensive healthcare provider, with an academic medical center for a large metropolitan area was looking for opportunities to reduce operational expenses without sacrificing quality. The cost associated with supporting and maintaining their EMR was identified as a potential opportunity. Apex Systems had worked with the client on previous projects. The client decided to partner with Apex to establish an innovative approach to provide certified Epic support analysts and report writers based out of our Mexico Delivery Center.​

The program was led by a US-based Healthcare solutions leader, engagement manager, and Epic subject matter expert to onboard, guide, and mentor the team to ensure successful certification and integration into the health system. Apex Systems worked closely with the client’s Director of Clinical Operations and navigated the process to gain Epic's approval to provide application support out of our near-shore delivery centers in Mexico. The Apex consultant team consisted of 12 Certified Epic Analysts certified across various clinical and reporting modules. Some members of the team have cross trained and gained certification on a second module. Targeting a university with a comprehensive bio-medical program, Apex was able to identify recent graduates with strong technical backgrounds who had completed bio-medical internships in local hospitals. These new consultants would begin their Epic Certification journey, grounded by a foundation from within a healthcare setting, ensuring a high-quality team for this initiative. Our team provided a creative tiered pricing approach as consultants gained client experience and Epic certification. ​
