Our client in Omaha is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer. This position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions that ensure availability, performance, and recovery operations for enterprise-class, multi-user computing environments.  Duties include leadership of projects and collaboration efforts with IT associates and business owners to determine technology requirements, installing and configuring system hardware and software, networks, upgrading tools, and technology and planning.  Lead others in responsive and effective root cause analysis and corrective measures for identified incidents and problems. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze, design, deliver and maintain complex infrastructure solutions, including multiple-user platforms, network, and storage solutions according to business and technical requirements.
  • Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions that mitigate outages defined within recovery point and time objectives.
  • Manage projects or stages of projects and lead others in the proper and effective application of project management processes and procedures. Conduct quality reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to the approved scope and design specifications.
  • Lead and assist others in effectively investigating and diagnosing incidents and root cause analysis of problems. Develop, implement, and document solutions promptly and validate with users that service has been restored.
  • Lead collaboration and requirements gathering with application developers focusing on infrastructure components for new projects and production support scenarios.
  • Design and implement security controls and standards for supported platforms. Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and implement appropriate solutions to mitigate technical system vulnerability.

Requirements
  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of network administration/engineering experience
  • Knowledge of Cisco server systems, Azure, and Office 365 tenant administration as well as VMware.
  • Understanding of local-area and wide-area networking.
  • Familiarity with high available storage networks.
  • Project management, planning, organizing and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to attend to details.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
