Hybrid - 2-3x per week in Dearborn, MI
12+ month contract opportunity 
Product Designer
The Workplace Tech Customer Experience Team leads the integration of employee technology across the enterprise to provide an exceptional technology experience. We listen to employees to understand their technology experiences, design exceptional solutions that integrate tech services, and communicate and engage tech improvements across the company.

Skills Required:

  • Utilizes User Centered Design Methodology and Design Thinking to work with customers/end-users, stakeholders, and team members to provide designs that meet business needs and are effective, efficient, and enjoyable.
  • Plans and conducts customer/end-user research (contextual inquiry, ethnographic interview, focus groups) to inform strategy, guide solution definition, and determine customer/end-user needs based on direct observation of people.
  • Plans and conducts usability testing, card sorting, and heuristic reviews to validate designs and/or user needs.
  • Produces HMI/UI sketches, visual designs, mock-ups, work flows, interactive prototypes, wireframes, style guides, journey maps and other artifacts to be used in the development process.
  • Defines, implements and measures success of lean experiments to improve the customer experience
  • Serves as an advocate for the customer/end-user, empathizing with them while being mindful of business goals and opportunities.
  • Works hands-on with team members and stakeholders to resolve questions, clarify designs, and deliver products.
  • Embraces, practices, and/or champions design and Agile processes, culture, best practices, and techniques.
  • Practices and/or enhances field research methods based on experience and professional learning.
  • Practices and/or enhances evaluation methods based on experience and professional learning.
  • Contributes to overall customer/end-user experience strategy and vision.  
  • Learns, teaches, and/or mentors on design topics.
  • Supports and/or creates a high-performing, supportive culture among team members

Skills Preferred:
  • Experience planning, conducting and evalulating experiments
  • Experience creating service blueprints

Experience Required:
  • 3-5 years experience working as a designer (Product, UI/UX, Research, etc.)

Experience Preferred:
  • Experience with graphic design, digital design and prototyping tools such as Illustrator, Sketch, Figma, Principle, After Effects and testing platforms like UserZoom, etc..
  • Hands-on experience of and passion for building mockups and prototypes, from digital to tangible proofs of concept.
  • Experience of working in highly collaborative design teams, or other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience of working on digital products and services for consumer and business applications.
  • Experience of working with software development teams and methods to bring products to market.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS


Education Required:
