Lead Consultant (Technical Program Manager)
The position:
Apex is seeking a seasoned technical program management lead with strong consultative skills to act as an Agile development leader Internal Practice Consultant within our Consulting Practice as part of our Apex Systems Solutions Delivery Organization. This role is best suited for someone with a deep understanding of DevOps practices, typical organizational operating models, various Agile frameworks, and best practices, to support all elements of the enterprise including tools, process, and people perspectives. An ideal candidate shows a passion for mentoring, communicates clearly, leverages tact in dealing with all levels of personnel while creating a compelling vision of the end game. This role will be responsible for client deliverables as well as internal leadership of technical consulting professionals. This role is a hybrid role and has a monthly onsite in Toronto requirement.  
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and integration of platform architecture and API integrations.
  • Lead and oversee team day-to-day work priorities, track agile metrics, and help communicate these to the team and stakeholders
  • Liaise with customers to understand and integrate their requirements into the project plan.
  • Manage projects and programs with a focus on architecture, DevOps and metrics
  • Develop workflows, dashboards, metrics, reports and advanced filters to provide team with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports
  • Analyze team capacities and find innovative ways to increase efficiencies and reduce time-to-market for new customer launches.
  • Develop metrics and track/evaluate performance of programs, services, and initiatives
  • Prioritize and manage the sequencing of work, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Oversee dependencies among various architecture teams, ensuring seamless integration and delivery
  • Develop engagement roadmap and any related reporting for client delivery
  • Foster a culture of continuious improvement, encouraging teams to adopt best practices in Architecture and DevOps
  • Oversee and ensure all deliverables are met in alignment with the Statement of Work
  • Manage program risks and brainstorm effective solutions
  • Build and develop a rapport of trust with client stakeholders and internal Apex leaders
  • Provide consultative solutions to the client and stakeholders
  • Develop domain services management playbooks and job aids, as needed
  • Support with ad-hoc reporting, including KPIs / team-level metrics, etc. and materials for managers as needed
  • Expected to work in connection with the Client and Internal Executives and stakeholders
  • Adept at distilling complex or detailed information into salient points/messages
  • Create and edit PowerPoint presentations to embody a visually-relevant experience for the presenters audience

Experience:
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in project and program management required (including all project methodologies)
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with API integrations, DevOps, and Architecture projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field (applicable education and experience may be substituted)
  • Thorough understanding of Agile Methodology, Agile and/or Project Management certifications preferred
  • Experience supervising and leading teams
  • Experience with communications and/or stakeholder engagement activities, such as developing communications plans, talking points, and/or presentation materials
  • Experience communicating and collaborating with Architecture teams, and being the liaison with customers to understand and translate requirements
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, to develop high-profile executive presentations, as well as developing metrics from Agile tracking tools like Jira or Azure DevOps
  • Experience creating dashboards and heat maps at various levels
  • Excellent creative, conceptual, storytelling, and analytic thinking skills
  • Must be a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting and independently
  • Excellent writing skills, strong communication and presentation skills
