Position: Construction/Plumbing Designer III
Location: Waltham, MA
Rate: Negotiable based on experience
Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
Position Description:
We are seeking a motivated and talented engineering designer to join our HVAC and Plumbing Coordination Teams and our Fire Protection Design Team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects. You will be using three- dimensional 3rd party AutoCAD software to assist with the operation, administration, and organization of project related activities to help successfully execute projects from start to finish.
After finishing your time here, you will have developed professional etiquette, as well as gained experience in industry communication, general piping and building construction, and various software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit.
In this role you will:
- Assist with general piping layout, coordination with other trades, and field surveying
- Generate various install drawings, as-built drawings, and 3D equipment models
- Attend project coordination meetings and complete job site visits with coordination manager
- Perform other duties as needed
- Work/Familiarity with Engineering/Architectural Drawings and Design
- Communication & work ethic
- Plumbing Code
- Experience or knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Detailed-oriented and organized
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate in small groups or as a part of a larger project team
- Able to ask the necessary questions in order to gain full understanding of concepts/tasks

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.?
