Senior Solutions Architect - Architecture Services and Security 
Client Industry: Healthcare IT
 
Contract Terms: 6 Months (3x 6 Month Extensions Available) 
Hours: Full Time (40 Hours / week)
Start Date: August 1st, 2024 
Estimated End Date: January 31st, 2024
Work Location: Remote, Canada - must be willing and able to work PST Hours for duration of the Contract.
Project Description:
Project Services is responsible for delivering a wide range of IT infrastructure projects for the Health Authorities of British Columbia.  
Project Services is searching for a Solutions Architect with extensive industry experience to provide designing, estimating, technical consultation in conjunction with internal and external Health Authority partners and stakeholders.

Services Required: 
The Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall technical design of the IT infrastructure projects, and mapping the business requirements to the Client systems / technical requirements.  The Solutions Architect works as a team member along with the Portfolio Managers, Technical Project Managers, Architects and Technical Analysts, in order to design and deliver a complete solution for the customer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, and design activities along with the Project Services Portfolio Manager(s) and Technical Project Managers
  • Participate and lead, when needed, design / technical meetings with the customers, internal subject matter experts and third-party vendors in order to gather technical specifications
  • Produce architectural design document to match customer requirements
  • Provide Architecture Oversight during implementation
  • Provide current best practices, design decisions and solution alternatives as part of the architectural design documentation
  • Participate in design, documentation, review and delivery activities, in conjunction with the Solutions Architect, Portfolio Managers and Project Managers
  • Provide technical information for project proposals
  • Work with other Solutions and Enterprise Architects to align designs with the enterprise roadmaps

Specific Qualifications or Experience Required:
Required Experience:
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of recent related experience in an IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect role in a large, complex Enterprise Organization
  • Experience in designing complex IT infrastructure projects
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution design and specifications
  • Experience in Microsoft Technologies (Desktop, Server, AD, ADFS, SQL, RDS etc.)
  • Broad knowledge in different technologies (like Unix server, Storage, Virtualization, Database Citrix (XenApp, XenDesktop), Identity Management, Voice, Networking (wired/wireless))
  • Knowledge and experience with current architecture standards and industry best practices in various  technologies and security
  • Proven technical consulting experience in large enterprises
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent preferred
Additional Experience - Nice To Have:
  • Experience in Healthcare IMIT
  • Experience in developing IT design for facilities-related projects and DC migration projects
  • Experience in latest technologies like Cloud (Azure, AWS), Big Data and Mobile
 
Seniority Level Descriptions: 
  •  Senior
    • A Degree in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of six (6) years of related Consulting Category experience; or
    • A Diploma in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of seven (7) years of related Consulting Category experience; or 
    • A Certificate in Consulting Category related disciplines and a minimum of eight (8) years of related Consulting Category experience; or
