Job Description:

We are seeking a New Product Development Manager - Home for our Product Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the company’s new product initiatives, which will help the company achieve its growth targets. This role requires a unique blend of technology, strategic insights, business acumen, and operational knowledge.

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret information about the market, competitors, consumers, and products.
  • Identify customer “problems to solve” (identify market opportunities) and translate these observations into actionable product/marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with the Home Line-Of-Business to understand their needs.
  • Develop and maintain the roadmap to ensure projects are tracking towards completion.
  • Explore, Design, and Develop vendor relationships and new business models.
  • Lead the vendors through the prototype and or technical trial phases with the support of our cross-functional team.
  • Create executive presentations that articulate “the problem to solve”, complications, and the solution (as well as the risks).
  • Financial Modeling and Contract Execution
  • Attend industry conferences to develop new business relationships as well as maintain existing partnerships in addition to staying on top of industry trends for future planning.
  • Negotiate business terms with vendors (+ manage RFP/RFI) 
     

Qualifications
 

  • REQUIRED
  • Bachelors required; Master’s degree preferred
  • At least 4 years required, 8 years preferred, of experience in financial modeling, product development/management, business strategy and/ or marketing
  • Broad list of relationships and or an eco-system understanding in telecommunications
  • At least 4 years required, 8 years preferred, of technical experience across a broad range of products/verticals - emphasis on fiber delivery to the home.
  • Proven track record working with and influencing cross-functional teams, as well as establishing an internal network of relationships at all levels of the organization to drive results is required
  • Demonstrated success in managing a complex workload with multiple priorities and tight deadlines with a focus on measuring results and improving performance is required
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure in a fun but fast paced and ever-changing environment is required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong executive presence is required
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office Products required, expert level in Excel, PowerPoint is strongly preferred
  • PREFERRED
    • Specific technical experience is desired in the following areas:
    • Fiber networking and fiber deployment infrastructure (GPON)
    • Fiber billing and CRM systems
    • IEEE 802.11 Standards
    • WIFI and mesh WIFI deployment systems
    • CCNA preferred (strong OSI Understanding)
    • Hands on experience with scalable designs/infrastructure
    • General knowledge of security best practices (CISSP Preferred)
    • Familiar with Transport/Backbone circuit designs
    • Familiar with Alarming/NOC and Customer Care systems (and metrics/KPI’s)
    • Working knowledge and experience with home IoT devices and smart home applications
    • Strong background in Business Development is strongly preferred (I.E. Negotiations, contract administration, payment/finance systems, revenue assurance, etc.)
    • Knowledge of peer organizations and best practices / process is strongly preferred (I.E. Logistics, Customer Care, Sales, Network Operations, Marketing, etc.)
