Job Title: Automation Engineer

Location: 100% Remote 

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 / Hourly Rate (Based on years of experience)

 

Job Details:

Individuals within the Automation Engineer role are team members within IT Operations.  They are responsible for the design, implementation and execution of the different automation processes, interfaces, utilities and applications supporting human and business workflow.  Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, managing operations, and triaging and fixing operational issues.
Automation Engineers must be able to adjust to constant business change; common types of changes include new requirements, evolving goals and strategies, and emerging technologies.  Automation Engineers require the ability to interact, develop, engineer, and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with clients, vendors, partners and all levels of staff.
DUTIES AND TASKS
  1. Work as a project team member or independently on small and medium projects with moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects.
  2. Increase skill and knowledge of automation concepts, multiple technical environments and tools and knowledge in integration and Cloud technologies
  3. Analyzes client operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to uncover opportunities for improvements.
  4. Develops, engineers, tests, deploys, configures, validates and supports technical solutions to meet the business requirements.
  5. Assists with setup and maintenance of test environments for both manual and automated testing.
  6. Develops, monitors and maintains ongoing automation tasks to ensure they are working as designed
  7. Plans and performs ongoing routine application maintenance tasks
  8. Evaluates existing manual processes and provides recommendations for new ways to automate them
  9. Evaluates existing applications and platforms and provides recommendations for improving performance by conducting gap analysis, identifying feasible alternative solutions and assisting in the scope of modifications.
  10. Provides technical coaching and mentoring to team members.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS)
  1. 3+ years hands-on programming experience (any language)
  2. Experience working in IT Operations
  3. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  4. Demonstrates knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software products
  5. Hands-on experience working in a Microsoft Windows environment
  6. Hands-on experience with PowerShell
  7. Hands-on experience working in Azure DevOps
  8. Experience with CI/CD build and release pipelines
  9. Understanding of and hands-on experience with REST API’s
  10. Experience managing code in a version control system (TFVC, Git, etc.)
