Job Description:

Apex Systems is hiring for a network engineer on a hybrid work schedule in Plano, TX. This will be in support of one of our large healthcare clients, please see below for additional details.

Title: Network Engineer

Location: Plano TX

Schedule: Hybrid- 3 days on-site and 2 days remote

Hours: M-F day hours (40 hour weeks)

Pay: $50-60/hr

Type: long-term contract (6+ months)

 

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum of 5 years networking experience (Cisco, PaloAlto, FS switches) .
  • On hand technical knowledge of networking systems, protocols, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools: SolarWinds, Extrahop, Cisco DNA, Infoblox, etc. 
  • Experience with both Oracle Talari & Netskope
  • Security remediation/segmentation experience 
  • Experience working in an enterprise switched and routed environment . converting from oracle talari SD wan to net netskope
  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware: Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco wireless technologies, etc. .

 

  • Qualifications: CCNA or relevant working experience . Relevant Microsoft certifications are a plus. Skills in automation languages are a plus: python, java, perl, etc.

Responsibilities

 

  • Network Engineer shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to, the following Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments .
  • Ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of division networks .
  • Plan and implement any improvement, modification, or replacement of network infrastructure components .
  • Monitor system capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands .
  • Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks .
  • Install and configure all network hardware and equipment .
  • Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment .
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure .
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts .
  • Establish connectivity and uptime service level agreements .
  • Be knowledgeable about and supportive of Administrative Procedures and directives .
  • Perform other duties as may be required of assigned by the Manager of Information Systems
