Apex Systems is a global IT services provider and our staffing practice has an opening for an IT Production Support Specialist with robust experience in IT, with a focus on 24/7 production support for Tier 1 or Tier 1 Critical applications to place at our client, a top Canadian Bank

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IT Production Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in IT, with a focus on 24/7 production support for Tier 1 or Tier 1 Critical applications, preferably within the banking domain. This role demands a deep understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes, as well as a strong technical foundation in various technologies and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 24/7 production support for Tier 1 or Tier 1 Critical applications, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Manage and resolve incidents and problems efficiently, following established processes.
  • Oversee and implement change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver CCR (Currency, Capacity, and Refresh) projects, including infrastructure and application version upgrades.
  • Utilize strong technical knowledge in Redhat Linux, IBM MQ/Kafka, SQL/Oracle DB, and web technologies such as Java, Springboot, and Node JS.
  • Implement and manage microservices architecture and containerization platforms, including Redhat Openshift, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm Chart.
  • Monitor infrastructure and application logs using tools like Dynatrace to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with team members, demonstrating strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Manage file transfer and scheduling software, such as Autosys.
  • Deploy CI/CD pipelines using DevOps tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, and Github Actions.
  • Ensure compliance with security and resiliency requirements from both infrastructure and application perspectives.
  • Conduct and manage disaster recovery (DR) exercises to ensure preparedness.
  • Navigate various application and regulatory audit processes effectively.

Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in 24/7 production support.
  • Strong knowledge of incident and problem management processes.
  • Experience in handling production support for Tier 1 or Tier 1 Critical applications, preferably in the banking domain.
  • Strong knowledge of change management processes.
  • Good understanding of both SDLC and Agile delivery models.
  • Experience in delivering CCR projects is a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Redhat Linux, IBM MQ/Kafka, SQL/Oracle DB concepts.
  • Understanding of web technologies like Java, Springboot, Node JS.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization platforms.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure and application log monitoring tools.
  • Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of file transfer and scheduling software like Autosys.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipeline deployment.
  • Understanding of security and resiliency requirements.
  • Experience in handling DR exercises.
  • Strong understanding of various application and regulatory audit processes.
