Job Description:
Join our dynamic team as a Staff Network Engineer, where you’ll support a critical digital modernization program for Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Department of Defense (DoD) Fourth Estate Agencies. In this role, you’ll develop, configure, and deploy cutting-edge network services within the Azure Cloud and data centers to meet end-user requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Network Design and Operation: Design, maintain, and operate Wireless and Local Area Networks (LANs/WLAN) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) using Infrastructure as Code and Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Automation: Automate network changes across various vendor platforms and Azure Cloud.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist a multifunctional team to optimize and visualize network operations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Conduct data captures to obtain network performance information.
  • Architectural Input: Contribute to the design of the enterprise’s network and mission architecture.
  • Evaluation and Alignment: Evaluate network architectures to ensure alignment with cloud and network modernization strategies, capabilities, and requirements.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Actively identify opportunities for improvement, including innovations aimed at enhancing user experience, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Security Enforcement: Enforce security best practices and guidelines, leveraging your knowledge of security policies, network security, and data security.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8-12 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience in designing, deploying, and operating software-defined networking solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking, including LAN, WAN, TCP/UDP, IPSec, VPN, proxies, routing (L2/L3), firewalls, and software-defined networking.
  • Experience with dual-stack networking (IPv4 and IPv6).
  • Experience developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilizing continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools, and leveraging automation platforms such as Ansible or Azure Functions.
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements (NIST, FedRAMP, FISMA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a distributed technical team.
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian suite, including Jira and Confluence.
  • Current IAT Level II (or higher) Certification such as Security+ or CISSP.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified Cisco Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Infoblox DDI (DNS, DHCP, and IPAM) installation, configuration, and management.
