Job Title: Tier 2 SOC Analyst

Location: Alexandria, VA (Fully Onsite)

Employment Type: 6-Month Contract to Hire

Job Description:

Seeking a highly skilled Tier 2 SOC Analyst to join our team, supporting a very mission-focused customer within the Department of Defense (DoD). This is a technical role that requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with various security tools and platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze security events and incidents using Cisco IPS, Palo Alto firewalls, and Splunk.
  • Conduct searches, queries, and create dashboards in Splunk to manage and respond to security incidents.
  • Understand and analyze the TCP handshake and computer communication protocols.
  • Handle regular incident response activities and provide technical support for security operations.
  • Work with Linux and Windows operating systems to ensure the security and integrity of the network.

Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Security+ CE certifications.
  • Proficiency in using Splunk for security monitoring and incident response.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols and network communication.
  • Experience with Cisco IPS and Palo Alto firewalls.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, normal working hours.

Team Structure:

  • 1-2 step team.
