Apex Systems, America’s second largest technical staffing firm, has a 6 month contract opening for Materials Planner with a client in Shippensburg, PA. Quick Overview:

Title: Materials Planner

Duration: 6 Month Contract

Location: Shippensburg, PA - Onsite

 

Description:

Responsible for the inbound logistics related to production parts, bringing them on time, at the low cost, and optimizing the transportation cost. Responsible for the material master parameters in the ERP system and for the optimum inventory levels

Responsibilities:

  • Managing inventory items
  • Performing inventory analysis
  • Controlling day-to-day inventory operations
  • Determining and directing where the inventory needs to go
  • Developing plans to ensure smooth product flow
  • Placing and tracking inventory orders
  • Coordinating the supply chain
  • Managing any inventory adjustments and transfers
  • Documenting any inventory discrepancies
  • Writing and maintaining inventory reports
  • Analyzing the root cause of inventory issues and providing solutions
  • Suggesting improvements to inventory control

Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.
  • At least 1+ years’ experience in Logistics Management, Inventory control, Procurement or Material Planning environment.
