Construction Project Manager

Hybrid role in office 3 days per week
Manage intermediate or complex customer focused projects at both the transmission and distribution levels, within a matrix team environment, to support aggressive Associated Business Development (ABD) growth strategies. Provide leadership, direction, training, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short and long range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction. Develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
1. Plan, organize, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned project activities becoming proficient in all aspects.
2. Assist in developing detailed customer proposals, competitive bids, and scope of work documents to include project schedules, timelines, procurement activities, and contractor resources.
3. Maintain strategic relationships with members of the transmission organization, as well as, customer account managers and distribution team members throughout the service territory.
4. Maintain/update ABD database as needed.
5. Support and hold employees and contractors accountable for the System Safety Process, ensuring a safe working environment focused on Zero Harm.
6. Manage, develop, review and coordinate the project/outage plan, schedule, and budget becoming proficient in all aspects.
7. Manage project costs and provide thorough reporting for purposes of invoicing/financial audits.
8. Effectively communicate project details and status updates.
9. Lead planning meetings and project updates including typical stakeholder presentations.
10. Provide clear and concise written and oral reports and other communications.
11. Develop and actively manage working relationships with the project team, plant and operating company staff, internal and especially external customers or partners, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
12. Manage all aspects of a project, from commencement to closeout, ensuring that all project closeout documents are compiled and archived as needed.
13. Foster teamwork and actively pursue customer satisfaction.
14. Provide specific guidance, instruction, and training to improve design, systems, procedures, processes, schedules, and costs.
15. Confidently challenge others at a level of informed understanding in all project work.
16. Ensure maximum customer satisfaction and demonstrate effective and efficient performance of project work activities on intermediate project level at a minimum .
17. Mentor other project managers or staff as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, or related field of study with 3 years qualified experience, or two-year Associates degree in the same disciplines with 5 years of qualified experience.
Experience: 3 years of qualified experience as a PROJECT MANAGER ASSC (Grade 6) preferred, OR demonstrated competencies, knowledge, and skillset through achieved results in a shorter timeline.
Qualified experience includes outage management activities, business administration, major construction field experience, project estimating, controls, and engineering, and/or comparable experience in a competitive production environment. Knowledge in construction safety, negotiations, scope development/control, cost estimating, construction contracting, project controls/reporting, and quality control are beneficial. Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, and/or IT systems is favorable.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid drivers license required. Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
