Position: Construction Engineer
Location: Chandler, AZ
30 Month Contract 

Targeted Years of Experience: 3-5 years

Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction activities related to the development of multiple, simultaneous network infrastructure projects.
  • Provide financial management of projects from initial proposal/bid through receipt of final product or service.
  • Handle daily activities including schedule and financial management, and interfacing with vendors via calls and meetings.
  • Ensure attention to detail, sense of urgency, and wireless network (cell site) construction experience.
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude with computers to navigate tools.
  • Oversee the RFQ or RFP process, contract process, sealed bid, distributing bid packages, coordinating bid walk, awarding project, monitoring progress, providing regular status updates, and resolving issues.
  • Establish quality assurance methods, procedures, standards, and technical training related to site design and construction.
  • Evaluate new products, services, and vendors, weighing pros and cons including impact to the system, costs, compatibility, ease of use, reliability, and timing parameters.
  • Interface with internal and external departments as well as regulatory agencies by interacting with municipal agencies in the pursuit of building permits, construction inspections, and obtaining certificates of occupancy for network facilities.
  • Manage construction from initial site design visit through completed drawings, including drawing review considering civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical feasibility, and value engineering.
  • Provide team leadership and guidance, and direction for individual/team growth and development.
  • Respond to emails promptly, actively participate in meetings, explain issues clearly, provide updates, maintain records, work with other departments, and understand the impact of their job on the overall business.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with ordering equipment/cables/hardware via the appropriate systems (Fuze, 1erp).
  • Manage multiple dashboards and PM trackers for team-based success.
  • Coordinate and manage specific installation designs and physical installations across multiple simultaneous initiatives, including installs, reconfigurations, decommissions, and First Office Applications (FOAs).
  • Manage internal database updates, equipment configurations, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
  • Manage staging and receipt of major and minor project materials.
  • Accurately identify, monitor, report, escalate, and resolve technical issues encountered throughout the engineering and build process.
  • Manage funding and PO requests of multiple complex projects and associated budgets, provide timely reporting, and effectively coordinate with other engineers and project management teams.
  • Manage and schedule multiple large, complex projects, balance workload in accordance with corporate priorities, and effectively coordinate with Program Management, Construction, and Real Estate teams.
