Quality Control Chemist
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Perform wet chemistry tests in a high-volume working environment for stability testing and quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
 

  • Calibrate laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Visually inspect the integrity of container/closure systems.
  • Inspect lot codes/batch codes for correctness.
  • Perform organoleptic and chemical analysis on bulk products, finished goods, raw materials and stability samples.
  • Proficient with wet chemistry techniques.
  • Assess data quickly to identify and report OOS and OOT data.
  • Transcription of raw data to laboratory notebook and reports of analysis.
  • Collect and document retain samples.
  • Request stability sample.
  • Maintain a log of stability batches.
  • Coordinate with QC Document Coordinator to ship samples to outsource laboratory.
  • Create stability records as needed.
  • Adhere to laboratory safety standards, by adhering to all company safety policies and wearing appropriate and required PPE.
  • Cover other lab personnel when needed.
  • Update logbooks.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of all reagents and chemicals used in QC lab.
  • Monitor and maintain chart recorders.
  • Comply with Company SOPs
  • Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Develop working knowledge of SOPs, cGMPs, GLPs, ISO, 21CFR111, 210, 211 and 117.
  • Familiarity with the use and function of common laboratory equipment.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Good visual/observation skills.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB DUTIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science.
