Job Description:

Apex Systems is seeking a motivated and skilled Sr Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position will manage all enterprise systems, physical and virtual server infrastructure, storage and infrastructure application systems in both Cloud and On-Premises environments as part of a team. This includes VMware, Microsoft and third-party tools to include Azure DevOps with tasks required to support cross-functional development teams and business community.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Integrate strategic priorities into a Requirements Traceability Matrix. System life cycle
  • Development shall include configuration and change management, participation in configuration control boards, processing change requests, and coordinating with technical support organizations.
  • Provide technical implementation using industry best practices.
  • Perform system administration, system maintenance and sustainment engineering for
  • development, testing, and production environments.
  • Implement problem resolution including system troubleshooting and requirements and software analysis throughout the system life cycle.
  • Servers and systems administration operational activity logs
  • Servers, developer workstations and system performance monitoring
  • Operating systems and software updates and upgrades
  • Patching and maintenance to uphold security posture as measured by iPost
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues
  • Perform all aspects of program and technical planning and resource management.
  • Provide well thought out technical solutions based on best business practices.
  • Provide server management of classified, unclassified and cloud computing networks.
  • Provide configuration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows servers configured within an Active Directory environment.
  • Provide configuration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux servers.
  • Provide security and system patching of Microsoft Servers and Microsoft workstations.
  • Provide creation, maintenance and deletion of user accounts, groups and rights within Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Manage Microsoft Group Policy within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, WINS, VPN, IIS and FTP services within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot licensing of various in-house engineering and COTS applications.
  • Maintain documentation to include Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Lifecycle Management Plans, Installation and Support Guides, After Action Reports, and Disaster Recovery Plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in system administration.
  • Highly proficient with cloud computing platforms, preferably Azure and AWS.
  • Proficient with Active Directory, Group Policy, and account management procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as teamwork abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must possess an Active Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Must be local to the National Capital Region (NCR).
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • Federal experience
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with DevOps, CI/CD, and pipeline automation.
  • Technical certifications, particularly Azure Administration Associate certification.
